IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW
Lessons with Rentals
If you are getting rentals prior to your lesson, please arrive at the ticket office 1.5 hours prior to your scheduled lesson start time on weekdays and 2 hours prior on weekends and holidays. After you pick up your lift and lesson ticket, your ticket agent will direct you to load Chair J1. This chair takes you to The Chalet, where the Rental Shop is located on the bottom floor. When picking up the rental equipment, an imprint of a credit card will be needed.

Lessons with Personal Equipment
If you're bringing your own equipment please arrive at the ticket office 1 hour prior to your scheduled lesson time on weekdays and 1.5 hours prior on weekends and holidays. After you pick up your lift and lesson ticket, your ticket agent will direct you to load Chair J1, which takes you to the lesson meeting area, in front of the Chalet.

Locations
All lessons meet in front the June Meadows Chalet, which sits at the top of Chair J1. Look for a large green Ski & Snowboard School flag near the fenced-off area containing the “Magic Carpet” surface lift. Once you have identified the area, stand next to the lesson sign matches your lesson type and await your instructor.
REQUIRED

  • Sunscreen
  • Neck gaiter (for cold or stormy days)

WHAT TO WEAR

Because June is located at a high elevation, weather conditions can vary in a short period of time and the sun can be harmful to your skin and body if you're not prepared. Layering is the best way to maximize your comfort if/when the weather shifts.

Avoid cotton fabrics, as they retain moisture from snow and perspiration. Start with a moisture-wicking inner layer (such as wool or silk) and add an insulating middle piece (such as a fleece, sweater or vest). Top off with a wind and water resistant shell layer to protect you from the elements.

BEGINNER
New skiers and snowboarders may spend multiple days in the beginner area. They will learn how to properly fit their boots, dress for winter activities, stop, turn, and be introduced to the responsibility code. For snowboarders this means sliding and stopping on both heel and toe edge. Snowboarders will also need to be linking turns (heel to toe and toe to heel) prior to getting on the chair lift. For skiers this means stopping and turning on command. Once the class is making turns in both directions with control and confidence, they will be introduced to the chair lift and green runs.

INTERMEDIATE
Competent skiers and snowboarders will refine techniques on blue runs, increase terrain variety, and follow the responsibility code. This may include introduction to off-piste, terrain park, SMART Style, and ATML.

ADVANCED
High-end skiers and snowboarders will work on improving technical skills and efficiency on black runs and off-piste. This may include intermediate terrain park tricks, SMART Style and ATML. They will be expected to use the responsibility code throughout the day.
