WELCOME TO JUNE MOUNTAIN

Whether you are planning a weekend trip with friends or with the whole family, it is nice to show up prepared. That's why we've created this guide to help you get a feel for the place before you get here.
    • CALIFORNIA'S FAMILY MOUNTAIN
June Mountain is located on State Route 158 in the town of June Lake, CA. We welcome skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities, offering 7 lifts, 41 trails, and 1,500 acres of uncrowded slopes and beginner-friendly terrain. When you're not on the hill, there are a variety of activities, shopping and dining options available at the resort and in the town.

      KIDS SKI & RIDE FREE
All children 12 and under ski/ride FREE at June Mountain. Be sure to pick up your child's free season pass at the ticket office before heading up to The Chalet.

      HAVE FUN WHILE STAYING SAFE
The base of June Mountain is approximately 7,500 feet above sea level, and the elevation at the Chalet is 8,695 feet. Visitors may experience some minor side effects due to June’s high elevation. Review our Safety & Conduct policies to get tips on adjusting at high altitude.

    • WHERE TO STAY
There are a variety of accommodations available in the town of June Lake, CA – resorts, lodges, hotels, condos, and cabins. If you don't mind a short drive to the resort in the morning, you can also stay 20 minutes away in the town of Mammoth Lakes, CA where our sister resort, Mammoth Mountain, is located.

      BECOME A PASS HOLDER
If you're planning on skiing and snowboarding multiple times this season, you may benefit from purchasing a season pass. We offer three types of passes to fit your needs, and there are many perks and discounts available to pass holders.
    • WHAT TO WEAR
Here at June Mountain the weather can change quickly from calm and sunny to cold and windy. For clothing, think about layers. From December to February you will want to have a base layer or thermals to keep you extra insulated when the high for the day is 30 degrees Fahrenheit. After that, a sweatshirt or flannel under your waterproof jacket will suffice. Waterproof pants are also key. If you are new to the sport, chances are you will spend a little time sitting on the snow before starting to glide smoothly on top of it. Overall, having the above on hand is generally a good idea. We do not have waterproof clothing to rent, but we do have some for sale at June Sports inside the Chalet.

      SKI & SNOWBOARD EQUIPMENT
For guests bringing gear from home, we offer day-use, overnight, and seasonal lockers in The Chalet. If you'd rather save yourself the hassle, you can rent directly on-hill from the Rental & Demo Shop. Advanced reservations are required.

      PARENTS CHECKLIST
Keep the kiddos comfortable while they play at June Mountain by making sure they have everything on our parent's checklist:
      • Warm waterproof/resistant pants and jacket
      • Beanie
      • Waterproof gloves
      • Eye protection, sunglasses or goggles
      • Neck gaiter (for cold or stormy days)
      • Helmet (available in the rental shop)
      • Energy snacks like trail mix, fruit or nuts
    • TIME IT RIGHT
The best thing you can do to start your day right at June Mountain is arrive early. The Ticket Office opens at 7:30AM, followed by chair J1 at 8AM. Most lessons start at 10AM but if you need rentals, the rental process can take up to an hour on busy weekends. If you're taking lessons we recommend arriving 1.5 hours prior to your scheduled lesson time. Visit the Hours of Operation page before you arrive as weather and conditions can impact operating hours.
